Who runs permitsearch.us

permitsearch.us is built and operated by TrueHome Inspection, a licensed Florida home-inspection company based in Jacksonville (state license HI1796). We built it because permit history is one of the first things we check before inspecting a home, and the public records behind it were scattered across hundreds of county and city portals.

What this site is

A free lookup of the building-permit records we hold on file for US addresses, aggregated from government permit portals, with public parcel facts and hazard layers alongside. How the data is collected and what “on file” means is documented on the methodology page.

What this site is not

permitsearch.us is not affiliated with any government agency, and a permit history is not an assessment of a property’s condition. Where our records for an area are still growing, pages say so plainly.
